THE SYMBOL OF HINDU'S DIVINE BELIEF "RAM SETU"

THE SYMBOL OF HINDU'S DIVINE BELIEF "RAM SETU"

The monument which has both historical and religious importance is 'RAM SETU' and now this is the time to save this religious symbol of Hindu belief.

The government of India wants to make a shipping canal to link the palk gulf and the gulf of mennar with Rameshwaram Island. The government says that this canal will shorten the distance of the sea route for ships; it will also save per year fuel expenditure for ships that is rs. 21 crore per annum now.

But ram setu not only has spiritual importance, it also has physical and social importance.

Spiritual importance: our puranas explained its importance in detail (as in skanda puran, Vishnu puran, Agni puran, Brahma puran and so on.)That this divine bridge made by "LORD RAM"wtih the help of his vanar sena before 17lacs and 25 thousands year ago.

PHYSICAL IMPORTANCE: Dr. Murthy, Chief Editor of the reputed International Tsunami Journal "Science of Tsunami Hazards" says that ram setu is a natural preventer from tsunami devastation.

According to many naval specialists only small and medium size ships should be crossed by this canal. Heavy and large size ships should not be able to pass through this canal because of its short depth (about 36 feet).

Social importance: we have 7 wonders in all over the world. Are they much older from lord ram and Krishna or the Vedas and purans of Hindu culture?
This is the point which we should understand when we cant think to touch anyone of 7 wonders , how we can break the such much older “Shri Ram Setu” made by Shri Ram with his Vanar sena.

To break this monument is to break the emotions and divine feelings of Hindu peoples.

It is possible to find other Better alternatives

Presently in India we have a queue of best of best architects and engineers. Are they not able to find another solution for reducing the expenditure of fuel and distances of seeing routes?
